Magical Botanical Poisonous Solanaceae, Mandrake Witching Plant Luxury greeting card.

Regular price $7.00

This darkly botanical greeting card features an antique illustration from 1573, of the spritely Mandragora plant, commonly known as Mandrake.

Mandragora is known for many things, from it's hallucinagenic properties, it's appearance in rituals of magic, to it's good luck charms in amulets and fertility. The roots of the mandrake resemble that of a wizend human form, with accompanying tales of it's screams as it's pulled from the earth...

This card is one of six designs available as part of our Solanaceae Collection.

The Solanaceae are a darkly magical genus of plants which include Belladonna, Datura, Henbane, Mandrake and the night shades. These plants have a respected history of great power, but also great danger. Those at ease with the the gods, and communed with nature, learned of their secrets, (later branded as witches and poisoners), and were feared and often outcast as their knowledge of the Solanaceae grew and became more powerful.

All cards are exclusively designed by Vanessa Kellas, and printed locally in Byron Bay on 100% post-consumer recycled stock using non toxic toner. The digital printing process also means there are less set ups & overs, resulting in less waste, which is another positive step for the environment.

These high quality greeting cards measure 10.5mm x 14.75mm and come with a brown, recycled c6 envelope, in a clear sleeve to protect the artwork.

They are left blank inside for your own personal, curious message...
